Vivienne Tam is the latest designer to take her designs to the web by collaborating with Stardoll. Stardoll is the surprisingly successful fashion/entertainment website catering to tweeners and teens ranging from 9-17 years old. Stardoll’s success has reached over 18 million members, where girls have the creative license to purchase designs for their “Me Doll” avatar or celebrity avatars for $1.00. Other designers who have partnered with Stardoll are DKNY and marykateandashley. Designers are happy to design these little virtual outfits because they are building their clientele for the future, without having to drop millions for fabric, production and advertising.
