The Thousand dollar Sundae

The Golden Opulence Sundae at Serendipity (225E. 60th St.) is noted as the world's most expensive ice-cream. It must be ordered two days in advance and consists of three scoops of luscious creamy Tahitian vanilla bean ice cream infused with Madagascar vanilla beans covered in 23-karat edible gold leaf . It is then drenched in Amedei Porcelana chocolate and covered with chunks of exotic candied fruits from Fauchon in Paris. Finally gold dragees and chocolate truffles are topped with a tiny bowl of caviar infused with fresh passion fruit, orange and Armagnac. Garnished with a gilded sugar flower and served in a complementary Baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet. I have had three already.
