Celebrating Warhol's 80th Birthday

Last night the New Museum on Bowery celebrated what would have been Andy Warhol’s 80th birthday. The soiree was hosted by actress Mena Suvari who shared in the festivities with Alan Cummings and long time friends of Andy’s.

The skylight room on the seventh floor was perfect for a Factory setting showcasing a select sampling of Andy’s original photography and ad work for Martini and Rossi premium liquor. A balcony covered the perimeter of the Skylight room, as floating lights projected an avatar –like profile of Andy’s head into the New York skyline.
Factory inspired cocktails provided by Martini and Rossi was served with a side of bite size hamburgers.

Mingling guests pretended to soak in the sliver factory playing with sliver helium balloons, as Warhol would often bring in silver balloons to drift around the ceiling.

The Factory was the meeting place of artists and musicians such as Bob Dylan, Mick Jagger and Truman Capote. The Factory last night was filled with reality stars filming a test pilot for Bravo, aspiring models that are past their prime and everyone else in between….Warhol would be so proud.
