Christophe Decarnin's Balmain is at the eye of fashion's destructive force, as he showed his S/S 09 collection on Monday in paris. A show stopping collection of Sergeant Pepper crystal embellished jackets, sequined minis bounded in silk chiffon and stonewashed torn jeans, added to the excitement of the first day in Paris; like a two jolt shot of expresso mixed with speed. The heavy hitting collection was amongst the fiercest we've seen this season.
Balmain's choice of studded sandals carried though his entire collection, criss-crossing from day to night. For the progressive Balmain women, this collection brings all the necessary after-party elements, fused together with references from the 80's. The power woman suit- minus the bottoms, left jackets with sky high shoulder pads, jeans we hoped to never see again and patone colored sequins. However, the collection was balanced with today's current mood, and will no doubt be Paris Vogue's front cover darling.
